LONDON — Indian media conglomerate Zee Entertainment Enterprises has launched DishFlix, a new video on demand service.

DishFlix will initially offer 50 movies that will be a mixture of Bollywood and Hollywood titles. The service will expand to 230 movies a year.

Customers will have to purchase a $91 1 TB set-top decoder and pay a subscription of $1.50 a month. The content will not require an internet connection and will be delivered to the box via satellite.

Zee’s move comes ahead of the imminent Indian launches of Amazon and Netflix content services.
