Anand Kini, who has served as NBCUniversal’s interim chief financial officer, since Vasant M. Prabhu left the company for a position at Visa in February, was named Thursday to take over the role permanently. He will report to NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke.
Kini had been executive vice president of strategy and business insights.
Prior to joining NBCUniversal in July 2011, Kini worked for the cable unit of NBCU parent Comcast Corp. as senior vice president of financial planning and analysis. He managed Comcast Cable’s forecasting, annual budget, and planning process, and helped the cable businesses identify emerging market trends.
He joined Comcast in 2007 from Activision Blizzard, a video game publisher in Southern Calif., where he was vice president of financial planning. Prior to that, he was director of financial planning for Disney’s Parks and Resorts division,
