Supermodel Bar Refaeli Arrested in Israel for Tax Evasion

Supermodel Bar Refaeli has been arrested in Israel for tax evasion, according to multiple reports.

The model reportedly was dishonest about her income and residence in her tax filings. According to TMZ, Israeli officials have charged her with failing to disclose money she earned abroad from modeling in addition to non-cash payments, such as a Range Rover and a Lexus acquired in modeling deals. Refaeli has also been accused of failing to pay taxes on her swanky Tel Aviv apartment.

Refaeli’s mother has been charged as well, with each woman’s bail set at 500,000 shekels (approximately $118,000 USD).

According to the New York Daily News, the model and her mother’s passports have been confiscated, and the pair is banned from leaving the country for 180 days.

Refaeli has appeared on television shows including “Project Runway.” She was romantically linked to Leonardo DiCaprio on and off beginning in the mid-2000s.
