Paramount, Highlight Extend Home Entertainment Pact

Paramount Home Media Distribution and Highlight Communications have extended their long-standing agreement for distribution of Blu-ray and DVD in Germany, Austria and Switzerland beginning next year.

Highlight and its subsidiary Constantin Film will continue to contract with Paramount for their portfolio of products in Germany, while Highlight/Rainbow Home Entertainment will distribute Paramount physical products in Austria and Switzerland. The five-year contract begins in 2016.

“We are delighted to continue working with Paramount and look forward to ongoing success as the home entertainment landscape continues to evolve,” said Franz Woodtli, managing director of Highlight.

“Highlight Communications has an outstanding portfolio of titles, including the world-class films from Constantin Film, and we are extremely honored that our two groups will be able to continue their successful collaboration in the region,” said Andreas Kelz, managing director of Paramount Home Media Distribution in Germany.

Paramount recently signed an agreement with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment for it to handle distribution of physical product in certain territories, including Germany.
