Entertainment lawyer Tom Ara has been appointed to the board of trustees at the Washington D.C.-based U.S.-Asia Institute. He is one of only two entertainment industry specialists on the board which largely comprises bankers, lawyers and lobbyists.
Ara, of the Greenberg Traurig firm, has previously been involved with the Institute presenting on deal-making in China.
Ara and DMG Entertainment Motion Picture Group president Chris Fenton will be involved in the planning of a media and entertainment focused Congressional delegation visit to China in 2016.
The US-Asia Institute is a nongovernmental organization serving as “an independent voice in the relationship between the U.S., China, and the countries of East and Southeast Asia.”
