RTL-CBS Asia Starts Separate Philippines Service

Pan-Asian general entertainment channel RTL CBS Entertainment HD has launched a dedicated feed for the Philippines.

The feed comes only 16 months after the joint venture channel launched in the SE Asia region and a year after the regional channel was launched in The Philippines.

“The Philippines is an important market for our network.  The dedicated feed allows for better customization and localization and the potential to further widen our advertising reach,” said Jonas Engwall, CEO, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network, in a statement. 

“We have received very encouraging feedback from our audience and partners in the country,” said Rene Esguerra, Country Head, Philippines, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment.

Separately, Turner Broadcasting has announced that Oh!K, its new Korean entertainment channel, made its Malaysian has launched on Astro. The high-definition channel offers a lineup of Korean drama and variety programming, with selected series airing less than a day after their initial transmission date.

The channel launched in SE Asia in October and runs in Singapore on Singtel TV and StarHub TV.
