Incentives Scorecard: Rhode Island Boasts 25% Transferable Tax Credit for Movies

Rhode Island offers a 25% fully transferable tax credit for motion pictures, and is also one of the few states with a comparable 25% incentive for musical and theatrical production. This is on top of lenient requirements for minimum spending and/or days of principal photography. Filmmakers can also combine Rhode Island’s incentive with others if multiple locations are needed. The Ocean State also boasts a full slate of production services and well-trained crews.
