The wedding of Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard on TLC’s “19 Kids & Counting” scored big in the ratings Tuesday night, racking up the series’ largest audience ever and the biggest for any telecast on the network in four years.
Nielsen estimates that the two-hour wedding episode averaged a 1.5 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 and 4.41 million viewers overall, making TLC the No. 1 cable network for the night in all key female demos.
Among Tuesday night programs, “19 Kids & Counting” was No. 1 in cable in women 18-49 (2.4/8), women 25-54 (2.4/7) and women 18-34 (2.3/9). In fact, in the women 18-34 demo, the only series on television to fare better in women 18-34 on Tuesday was NBC’s “The Voice” (2.7/10).
In total viewers, Tuesday’s episode of “19 Kids” averaged the largest audience for TLC since the premiere of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” in November 2010 (4.95 million).
