ABC edged out Fox for the young-adults demo lead on Sunday, as the former saw gains for the season finale of “Resurrection” and the latter delivered improved numbers for “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy” and “Cosmos.”

According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, ABC opened the night a demo winner with “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (1.6/6 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) and then tied Fox’s comedies for the lead at 8 with “Once Upon a Time” (2.0/6 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall); the penultimate episode of the season for “Once” was down two tenths from its national average of last week (2.2), but is projected to rise to at least a 2.1 in the nationals this week. “Resurrection” (2.0/6 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall) closed its first season with a week-to-week gain of roughly 10% (projected 2.1 in the nationals), winning among the broadcasters in key demos and hitting a five-week high in men 18-49 (1.7/5). “Revenge” closed out the night for ABC (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall), on par with last week and again the narrow timeslot winner in 18-49.
