Watch: Ellen DeGeneres Makes Surprise Visit To ‘Conan’

‘Tis the season for surprise appearances! Ellen DeGeneres surprised the audience of “Conan” by appearing on the show for the first time in years, bringing with her a Santa-caliber haul of gifts for those in attendance.

The fun starts when an audience plant interrupts host Conan O’Brien’s opening monologue by playing her Stradivarius violin, which she purportedly received at a taping of DeGeneres’ show, which is known for its extravagant 12 Days of Giveaways promotion during the holidays. The woman shows off the many gifts that DeGeneres supposedly bestowed: an iPhone 9, an espresso machine, an authentic gold medal from the ’32 Olympics, John Hamm’s basketball shorts, a terracotta warrior and an MRI machine “with its own personal Fabio to operate it.”

“If Ellen can give away a silver toilet filled with ancient Persian rubies, why can’t you?” the woman insists.

Though host Conan O’Brien insisted that they greatest gift of all was laughter, even he couldn’t hide his glee when DeGeneres appeared and revealed that everyone would receive a pair of Beats Solo 2 headphones by Dr. Dre. His offer of “half a sleeve of gluten-free Fig Newtons” he found in his car simply could not compete.

“Conan” airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on TBS. “Ellen” airs weekdays at 4 p.m. on NBC.
