TV Land has tapped sitcom vets Bill Martin and Mike Schiff as showrunners for the fourth season of the Cedric the Entertainer comedy “The Soul Man.”

“Soul Man” will have a 12-episode run on the Viacom cabler next year. Sherri Shepherd, former co-host of ABC’s “The View,” will return for a 10-episode guest arc opposite Cedric and Niecy Nash. “Soul Man” revolves around a former mega-church minister who downscales to a quieter life in St. Louis.

Martin and Schiff will take over showrunning duties from Ric Swartzlander, who was at the helm of the show’s third season. The pair’s credits include “3rd Rock from the Sun” and “Grounded for Life.”
