Turner Broadcasting PR vet Sal Petruzzi has been upped to the new post of senior vp and domestic communications officer.

Petruzzi will continue to work closely with Turner Broadcasting president David Levy, and he will also work with PR teams at Turner’s entertainment nets and advertising sales divisions. Based in New York, he’ll be the liaison for the entertainment and sports divisions with Turner’s news and international units.

Petruzzi reports to Jeff Matteson, senior VP and strategic communications officer for TBS. Petruzzi’s ascent is no surprise as he has worked closely with Levy, who has consolidated his turf at Turner amid major management shuffles under new Turner chairman-CEO John Martin.

“Turner’s domestic portfolio is one of the most successful and significant media groups in the world, and it’s Sal’s job to align and leverage our internal resources to ensure that the communication supporting the group is strategic, comprehensive and coordinated for maximum impact,” Levy said.

Petruzzi joined Turner in 2003 from A&E Television.
