Sorry, Stephen Colbert.

It looks like Comedy Central host has more competition in the race to replace “Late Show” host David Letterman.

“30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” alum Tracy Morgan spoke with Matt Lauer on NBC’s “Today” this morning ostensibly to promote his new movie “Rio 2,” but really to officially throw his hat in the ring for the latenight gig.

Why does Morgan think he’d be a good choice?

“We’ll shake the game up. I think Jimmy Fallon needs some competition,” he told Lauer.

Morgan has even thought about his ideal guests (“Bruce Vilanch or the black dude from Magnum P.I.”), his signature sign off ( “Who’s coming with me? I don’t know where I’m going but who’s coming with me?”) and his band (” It might be Drake one night. It might be Sly and the Family Stone one night …”).

Do you think he’d make a good “Late Night” host? Share in the comments.
