Toby Gorman to Lead Unscripted Development at FremantleMedia North America

FremantleMedia North America has hired Toby Gorman as exec vice prez of alternative programming. Gorman will head unscripted development at the studio, and his position will be effective in April.

Gorman officially joins FremantleMedia after working closely with the company on numerous reality shows, including “American Idol,” “Celebrity Family Feud” and the pilot for ABC’s “Take Me Out.” The Brit also served as a producer and showrunner for FremantleMedia across the Pond on shows including “All Star Family Fortunes” and “Grease is the Word.”

Most recently, Gorman served as co-exec producer and showrunner on the Peacock’s “Hollywood Game Night” and “The Winner Is.”

“FremantleMedia aims to continue to build on its strong presence in reality, game show and other unscripted television, and Toby has earned a wonderful reputation as a terrific series producer and show runner,” said FMNA CEO Thom Beers. “With his diverse experience, and an attuned eye for the international market, he will be a substantial new member of our team.”
