A new series is in the works at ABC Family from “Pretty Little Liars” author Sara Shepard.

The network is developing a script for “The Perfectionists,” based on Shephard’s novel. “Pretty Little Liars” executive producer and co-showrunner I. Marlene King will supervise the script for the project, which is still looking for a writer.

“The Perfectionists” is a murder mystery following five girls who plot the perfect revenge after their lives are ruined by a handsome womanizer. When he dies exactly as they planned, though not at their hands, the question becomes: who did it?

“The Perfectionists” hails Alloy Entertainment and Warner Horizon TV. King will also executive produce with Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein and Cheryl Dolins.

Though the first book of the series was not published until earlier this month, “The Perfectionists” was first developed as a TV series by Alloy and Warner Bros. last season at the CW with Arika Lisanne Mittman as writer and exec producer.

Shepard is also the author of “The Lying Game,” which joined “Pretty Little Liars” on ABC Family for two seasons before being cancelled in 2013.
