‘The Goldbergs’ Firek, Barnow Sign Separate Overalls With Sony

The writing team of Alex Barnow and Marc Firek have closed their first individual two-year overall deals with Sony — the first solo deals for each writer. They intend to develop together.

The duo are currently co-exec producers and writers on ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” which is produced by Sony TV and Happy Madison. They also created and exec produced the Matthew Perry starrer “Mr. Sunshine” for Sony. Previous credits also include “Rules of Engagement,” “‘Til Death,” “Out of Practice,” “Like Family” and “The In Laws.”

Barnow and Firek are represented by UTA and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush & Kaller.
