The CW’s “The Flash” pilot is bulking up its cast roster, tapping Broadway’s Carlos Valdes to play mechanical engineering genius Cisco Ramon (DC Comics fans might know him better as Vibe).
Valdes, who plays Andrej in the musical “Once,” joins Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin and Candice Patton in Warner Bros. Television’s potential “Arrow” spinoff from Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter. Berlanti and Kreisberg are also penning the script with DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns and Nutter will direct.
Other CW pilots for this season include Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero’s “iZombie,” about a med student-turned-zombie forced to work in a coroner’s office, and “Jane the Virgin,” an adaptation of the Venezuelan telenovela “Juana La Virgen” about a young Latina who accidentally finds herself pregnant.
