TF1 Picks Up ‘CSI: Cyber’ From CBS Studios International

PARIS– France’s leading commercial network TF1 has acquired exclusive first-window rights to “CSI: Cyber” from CBS Studios International.

The show is the latest spinoff of the franchise “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” which has been scoring top ratings on primetime TF1 since 2001.

The CSI franchise has been licensed to more than 200 markets and ranks as one of the most-watched shows in the world.

“TF1 has been a valuable partner to us over the years, making a significant contribution to the global success of the CSI franchise,” said Armando Nuñez, president and CEO of CBS global distribution group. “So it’s only natural that TF1’s schedule is the perfect home for “CSI: Cyber,” giving its audiences more of the drama and excitement they expect from this hit franchise.”

Fabrice Bailly, TF1’s head of programming, concurred: “The CSI franchise is a French audience favorite on TF1 with huge ratings. (…)The cast and crew from the new show are amazing and it promises to be a lot of fun.”

“CSI: Cyber” stars Patricia Arquette as Avery Ryan, a cyber-psychologist who tracks crimes that start in the mind, live online and play out in the real world. Inspired by the real life cyber-psychologist Mary Aiken, special agent Ryan knows first-hand how today’s technology allows people to hide in the shadows of the internet and commit serious crimes of global proportions.

The series also toplines James Van Der Beek, Peter MacNicol, Charley Koontz and Shad Moss, and is exec produced by Carol Mendelsohn, Ann Donahue, Anthony Zuiker, Pam Veasey, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.

It’s produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
