Shine International is getting into business with the creators of “Lockup,” as the company signs a first-look development and distribution deal with unscripted shingle 44 Blue Productions.

Under the pact, Shine Int’l will rep finished tape and format rights for new TV projects from 44 Blue, giving the production company —  led by Rasha and Stephanie Drachkovitch — broader international reach.

“44 Blue Productions shares a similar reputation with Shine International for high quality non-scripted programming,” said Tania Jacobson, senior veep of sales and acquisitions for the Americas in Shine International. “Offering exclusive access and insight to worlds previously unseen on screen, we’re looking forward to working together to bring these stories to a worldwide audience.

In addition to producing MSNBC’s “Lockup” franchise, 44 Blue is responsible for unscripted programs including A&E’s new series “Wahlburgers,” Animal Planet’s “Pit Bulls & Parolees,” and OWN’s “Married to the Army: Alaska.”
