Shed Media U.S. has appointed John Hesling senior vice president of programming, the unscripted production company announced today.

Hesling arrives at the shingle following a tenure at BBC Worldwide Prods. Los Angeles, where he exec produced History’s “Top Gear’ and served as senior v.p. of programming. During his time at BBC, Hesling helped launch shows including “Dragons’ Den,” “Great American Road Trip” and “One Week to Save Your Marriage.”

The senior vice prez role at Shed Media U.S. is newly created. Shed Media U.S. produces reality shows including “The Real Housewives of New York,” “Basketball Wives Los Angeles,” and “Who Do You Think You Are?”

Shed Media U.S. is the Stateside production arm of Shed Media Group, which is majority owned by Warner Bros. TV Group.
