With “Shark Tankwinning Friday night demos for ABC, the network has announced a ten-episode companion series, “Beyond the Tank.”

While previous “Shark Tank” episodes have given glimpses at former deal winners, the new series will provide a close examination of both the successes and, perhaps more common, the failures of the people still pursuing their dream. The hour-long episodes will follow the ups and downs — and opportunities and struggles — that come after an entrepreneur strikes a deal on the popular reality competition show.

“Shark Tank,” based on the Japanese series “Dragons’ Den” from Nippon Television Network Corporation, is executive produced by Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill and Phil Gurin. “Beyond the Tank” will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and United Artists Media Group.
