Remember the “Seinfeld” reunion that’s Jerry Seinfeld has been teasing? Well, it’s been revealed at the Super Bowl.
A commercial featuring the comedian and Jason Alexander, who played George Contanza in the hit sitcom, hit the Super Bowl, advertising an episode of Seinfeld’s web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” The bit featured the duo partaking in their signature banter at Tom’s Restaurant and included an appearance from Newman the mailman.
Seinfeld alluded to the reunion during a radio show, though he said the said the reunion would not be an episode of his web series, he did say Alexander would be involved.
“Fox approached Larry and me about doing some kind of Seinfeld reunion for the halftime broadcast because of the New York connection,” Seinfeld said in a statement after the segment aired. “So we thought throwing Jerry, George and Newman into a ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’ was a fun way to do it. Larry and I wrote the script in one sitting, just like old times, and working with him, Jason and Wayne was a total blast as it always was.”
