“Once Upon a Time” and “Masters of Sex’s” Rose McIver has been cast as Liv, the med student forced to work in the coroner’s office when her, um, diet changes. Eating brains comes with some side effects: with each one Liv consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. Partnering with her medical examiner boss and a police detective, Liv takes to solving homicide cases as a method of quieting the disturbing voices in her head.
The one-hour drama is executive produced by scribes Thomas and Ruggiero (“Veronica Mars”), as well as Dan Etheridge and Danielle Stokdyk, for Warner Bros. TV. Thomas is also helming the pilot. It is based on the characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred for DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint.
Other cast members include Robert Buckley, David Anders, Malcolm J. Goodwin and Alexandra Krosney.
The New Zealand-born McIver is repped by WME and Sue Barnett & Associates in Australia, as well as Principato-Young Entertainment, Johnson and Laird Management in New Zealand, and MLC PR.
