A Los Angeles Superior Court jury has ordered CBS to pay $10.4 million in connection with the death of a security guard who was killed in an freak accident on the set of “NCIS” in Santa Clarita, Calif.

The 52-year-old security guard, Julio Villamariona, was killed after the driver of a CBS production van lost control and crashed into him, according to TMZ, which first reported the news of the jury’s verdict Tuesday.

Villamariona’s widow and his three children filed the suit against CBS Corp. The family’s lawyer, Brian Panish, confirmed the report Tuesday night. Closing arguments in the case were held Monday.
