HBO has handed a 13th season to “Real Time With Bill Maher” ahead of its season 12 premiere, the pay cable net announced today.

“Bill Maher has been a treasured member of the HBO family since the late ‘80s, and his irreverent wit and fearless insights make him the perfect observer for these unpredictable times,” said HBO topper Michael Lombardo. “I’m delighted that we can continue to offer an uncensored forum for his original and thoughtful humor.”

Season 13 will be comprised of 35 editions and roll out in Jan. 2015.

“Real Time” features Maher and a panel of guests as they discuss contemporary issues, and has been averaging 4.1 million viewers per show. Program airs Fridays at 10 p.m. and bows its 12th season Jan. 17.
