Veteran reality TV producer Betsy Schechter has launched the New York-based production outfit Storyville Entertainment.

Company is already developing scripted and non-scripted projects for A&E, TNT, H2, Animal Planet, National Geographic TV and other outlets. Also on the boards is a scripted series with “Paranormal Activity” producer Jason Blum.

Schechter was previously co-president of Picture Shack Entertainment, where she exec produced more than a dozen unscripted cable series. Before that she spent five seasons as exec producer of the A&E series “Paranormal State.”

Joining Schechter at Storyville is Caroline Christopher, who serves as VP of development and production. Christopher comes to Storyville after most recently working as director of development for Nat Geo TV.

Storyville aims to become a “hub for creativity regardless of the genre and platform, everything from non-fiction to scripted to digital to reality,” Schechter said.
