NBC Orders Pilots for David Goyer DC Comics Drama, Greg Berlanti Drama

NBC has ordered David Goyer’s DC Comics project “Constantine” to pilot.

From Warner Bros. TV, “Constantine” will bring to life DC Comics character John Constantine, based on the “Hellblazer” graphic novels. Constantine is struggling with his faith as he is haunted by the sins of his past but is suddenly thrust into the role of defending humanity from the gathering forces of darkness.

Daniel Cerone (“Dexter”) penned the pilot and is exec producing alongside Goyer.

Peacock also ordered a pilot for Greg Berlanti’s “Mysteries of Laura.”

Also from Warner Bros. TV, the procedural drama is based on a Spanish format and follows a quirky female homicide detective who juggles high stakes crime along with her ex-husband and set of twin boys.

Jeff Rake wrote the pilot. Rake is exec producing with Berlanti, Melissa Berman and Aaron Kaplan.
