NBC has added to its cast of “Peter Pan Live!,” tapping “About a Boy’s” Minnie Driver to play the adult version of female lead Wendy Darling in its live staging of the musical.

As fans of the play will recall, the part is a small — but emotional — one that will be showcased at the end of the production that stars Allison Williams as the titular boy who never wants to grow up and Christopher Walken as his enemy, Captain Hook.

“We’re thrilled to have Minnie as part of this ‘Peter Pan’ adventure,” said Robert Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment chairman. “She appears in the final emotional scene when Peter returns to the Darling home years later only to realize Wendy is now grown up and has a daughter of her own, but you’ll also hear her voice throughout the movie since Adult Wendy is also our narrator. She’s a classy addition to our wonderful cast.”

“Peter Pan Live!,” which is executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, will air at 8 p.m. Dec. 4 on NBC. NBC will also air the behind-the-scenes special “The Making of Peter Pan Live!” at 9 p.m. on Nov. 26.
