‘Louie’ Renewed for Season 5

FX has renewed “Louie” for season five, the network announced Monday at their Television Critics Assn. summer presentation. The show will return with seven new episodes in Spring 2015.

Louie’s fourth season was once again groundbreaking. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking — always thought provoking,” said John Landgraf, CEO, FX Networks & FX Productions. “The show went to narrative and cinematic places no comedy has gone before and we look forward to seeing what Louis comes up with next.”

“Louie” is nominated for five Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actor Comedy (C.K.), Writing, Directing and Casting for a Comedy Series.

Louis C.K., M. Blair Breard and Dave Becky are Executive Producers. The series is produced by FX Productions.

FX also renewed freshman drama “Fargo” for a second season at their TCA presentation.
