The Writers Guild of America East has tapped Larry Wilmore as host of the 67th annual Writers Guild Awards New York ceremony.

The event will be held on Feb. 14 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.

Wilmore will next be seen on television anchoring the Comedy Central news program “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,” which wil premiere Jan. 19. He has served as the “Senior Black Correspondent” on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” since 2006.

Wilmore is an exec producer on ABC’s “Black-ish” and created, wrote and executive produced “The Bernie Mac Show.”

Previous hosts for the Writers Guild Awards New York ceremony include Colin Quinn, Richard Kind, Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, Kristen Schaal, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Dick Cavett, Al Franken, Mort Sahl and Bill Murray.
