“Taxi” star Judd Hirsch has been cast in the role of Abe in ABC drama pilot “Forever.”

Hourlong project centers on Dr. Henry Morgan, New York City’s star medical examiner. What no one knows is Henry studies the dead for a reason — he’s immortal. His investigative work with Detective Jo Martinez and relationship with best friend Abe (Hirsch) will peel back the layers of Henry’s colorful and long life.

In addition to “Taxi,” Hirsch has appeared in NBC’s “Dear John,” CBS’ “Numbers” and FX’s “Damages,” among other series. He is repped by Joan Sittenfield Management and attorney Jake Jacobson.
