TBS is hitching its wagon to “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’s” Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, ordering a pilot based on a script the couple wrote about their experiences with family getaways.

Jones will also star in the still-unnamed project as Nate, a hopeful dad who hops in the car with his wife and two young kids for a 24-hour adventure to Key West. The comedy intends to prove that, while close proximities can lead try family members’ patience, precarious situations and interactions with strangers can also bring them together. Should this project get a series greenlight, plans call for each season of the show to chronicle a different trip.

“As we continue to move TBS in new and exciting directions, we believe that comedies like this will truly resonate with our target audience of young adults,” said Brett Weitz, senior vice president of scripted development for TBS and TNT. “We’re thrilled to be working with Jason & Sam Bee, two of The Daily Show’s breakout stars and two of the funniest writers in the business.”

The pilot is being produced by TBS. Jones is repped by UTA, Brillstein and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush & Kaller. Bee is repped by UTA, Brillstein and Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson & Binder.
