TV Land has announced an hourlong live event for two of its shows, “Hot in Cleveland” and “The Soul Man.” Both comedies will broadcast live season premieres back-to-back on March 26 at 10 p.m. ET and 10:30 p.m. ET, respectively. The West Coast will get live-to-tape versions starting at 10 p.m. PT.

“The thrill of knowing that viewers at home are seeing exactly what’s happening live on stage really amps up the pressure and makes the energy on set electrifying,” said TV Land President Larry W. Jones in a statement.

The cabler also announced that it will produce an animated version of its hit original show “Hot in Cleveland.” Animation Studio Titmouse, Inc. will create the art for the episode, which will be part of the fifth season of the comedy series.

The animated episode will see Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli), Joy (Jane Leeves), Victoria (Wendie Malick) and Elka (Betty White) as cartoon characters embarking on an around-the-world adventure. From there the women go on a psychedelic romp through pop culture hits, including scenes with allusions to “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,” “The Walking Dead” and “Frankenstein.”
