Season one of the show premiered on the Disney Channel in Summer 2012. It was later moved to Disney XD.
While the season two premiere will air on the Disney Channel, Hirsch also tweeted that the second episode will debut on Aug. 4 on Disney XD.
“Gravity Falls” has attracted a cult following, likely to do the fact that it’s often noted for being unique compared to other Disney Channel offerings. It leans heavily on mythology, for which it has been compared to “Lost” and “The X-Files,” while still offering a broader sense of humor.
Hirsch, Jason Ritter, Kristen Schaal and Linda Cardellini provide voice talents in the show that follows a young boy (Ritter) and his twin sister (Schaal) in the fictional town of Gravity Falls, Oregon, and the adventures they go on during summer vacation.
