Flight of the Conchords” alum Jemaine Clement is working on a new comedy prospect for HBO — but contrary to Internet rumors it is not envisioned as a new flight for “Conchords.”

Clement is teaming with former “Conchords” helmer Taika Waititi on a project that is in development, according to sources, and by no means greenlit yet.

Clement and Waititi just partnered on the Kiwi vampire comedy “What We Do in the Shadows.” Clement’s remarks about the HBO project in an interview with the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper spurred online chatter about a “Conchords” TV series reunion being in the works.

Clement starred with Bret McKenzie for three seasons in the HBO series that showcased the duo’s offbeat folk music/comedy act.
