FilmRise Nabs Stateside Digital Rights For ‘Forensic Files’

FilmRise has acquired the exclusive U.S. digital distribution rights for “Forensic Files,” one of the longest-running true crime series on TV.

Deal covers 14 seasons of the program from Medstar TV. “Forensic Files” debuted on TLC in 1996 as “Medical Detectives,” and currently airs on truTV.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to make this hugely popular show available online for the first time,” said FilmRise CEO Danny Fisher. “We believe the show’s loyal fans will appreciate watching their favorite episodes of ‘Forensic Files’ whenever they want, catch up on episodes they may have missed — and that the audience to this groundbreaking series will expand through its digital release.”
