‘Extra’ Sets Tracey Edmonds, Charissa Thompson as Co-Hosts with Mario Lopez

Extra” has recruited two co-hosts to work alongside Mario Lopez on the daily syndie newsmagazine: Tracey Edmonds and Charissa Thompson.

Edmonds (pictured left) is a producer and entrepreneur who runs Edmonds Entertainment and is the force behind the OWN series “Deion’s Family Playbook,” starring NFL great Deion Sanders.

Thompson (pictured right) comes to “Extra” from Fox Sports 1 where she anchors the cabler’s “Fox Sports Live” program. She will continue with Fox Sports even with her new daily gig on “Extra.” The two will join the show at the start of its 21st season on Sept. 8.

Edmonds and Thompson replace Maria Menounos, who left the Telepictures Prods. strip in May after three years alongside Lopez.

“Tracey Edmonds is one of the most accomplished television forces in Hollywood. She is already a star with A-list relationships. Charissa Thompson is one of the quickest, sharpest and best interviewers on sports TV and was born to juggle the demands of fast-paced television,” said “Extra” senior exec producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey. “From the moment I put Tracey and Charissa on stage with Mario, their chemistry was off the charts.”
