Entertainment One will be expanding its growing alternative programming division with the appointment of David Shaye to vice president of development, U.S. alternative programming for Entertainment One Television.

In his new role, Shaye will work with Tara Long, SVP of alternative programming, and other division executives to add to Entertainment One’s (eOne) existing slate of unscripted series.

“Over the past two years, eOne Television’s alternative programming business has flourished, and we are actively building out our division to support its rapid growth,” said Long in her announcement. “David has a keen eye for engaging content and a deep background in working with talent who have thrived in the reality space, and we are delighted to have him join the team.”

Shaye comes to eOne from Evolution Media, where he served as VP of development and co-executive producer on E!’s upcoming plastic surgery series “Botched” and ABC Family’s “Beverly Hills Nannies.”

In addition to Shaye’s appointment, Entertainment One has also entered into first look agreements with reality producers Kevin Healey, Riaz Patel and Ben Bitonti. The new agreements will provide Shaye and eOne additional creative resources and direct links to already impactful content creators.

“We are big fans of the work of our new group of best in class creators, Kevin, Riaz and Ben, and we look forward to collaborating with them on a wave of new series ideas and related projects,” added Long.

Kevin Healey has created, written, developed and produced a wide variety of shows including Syfy’s “Scare Tactics,” “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers,” and the Emmy-winning “Win Ben Stein’s Money.”

Riaz Patel is known for his revamped “How Do I Look?” for the Style Network, for which he received Daytime Emmy noms in 2010 and 2011, as well as Lifetime’s “How to Look Good Naked” and TLC’s “Family S.O.S. with Jo Frost.”

Ben Bitonti completes the trio, having created and developed series and specials for E1, VH1, OWN, and more. Bitonti has a talent representative background.
