‘Prison Break’s’ Dominic Purcell Joins ‘The Flash’

Dominic Purcell has signed onto the CW’s upcoming comicbook drama “The Flash,” the spinoff to its successful “Arrow” series.

Purcell is set to play Mick Rory, a DC Comics villain and pyromaniac who finds an outlet for his obsession when he teams up with Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold (played by his “Prison Break” costar Wentworth Miller), and becomes Heat Wave.

Purcell will first be heard from in episode four when Miller makes his debut on the show.  His first on-screen appearance will be in episode 10.

Other ‘”Prison Break” alums featured in the “Arrow”/”The Flash” universe include Robert Knepper, who is set to reprise his “Arrow” role of The Clock King on the new series, and Peter Stormare, who will play Count Vertigo on the upcoming season of “Arrow.”

Purcell is repped by UTA and Untitled.

“The Flash” premieres on Oct. 7 on the CW.

The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
