DirecTV’s new one-hour drama series has been dubbed “Kingdom” and will premiere on Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the satcaster announced on Thursday. The show, which focuses on a family’s mixed martial arts gym and the relationships and addictions of the characters, will premiere on Audience Network. The show was created by Byron Balasco.

“Captain America’s” Frank Grillo will play fighter Alvey “King” Kulina, and former boy-band star Nick Jonas will play Nate, a prized fighter at the gym and Alvey’s youngest son. “Parenthood” actor Jonathan Tucker will play Alvey’s eldest son and a promising fighter. “House of Cards” actress Joanna Going, Matt Lauria from “Friday Night Lights” and Kiele Sanchez from “Lost” are also part of the “Kingdom” cast.

The 10-episode series will be DirecTV’s third original drama, after “Rogue” and “Full Circle.”
