Bravo has hired Rachel Smith as vice president of current production and Joseph Ferraro as vice president of development, Variety has learned.

Smith joins Bravo from BBC America where she was v.p. of original programming, leading the development and production of unscripted programs including “Royally Mad with Cat Deeley,” “Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan” and “The Nerdist with Chris Hardwick.” Smith has also held tenures at Discovery Fit and Health and IFC, and worked at Bravo previously from 1999 to 2005 as manager of production.

In her new post, Smith will report to Shari Levine, senior veep of current production/original programming at the NBCU cable net, and exec produce “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Newlyweds: The First Year,” along with other series.

Ferraro, who recently departed Ryan Seacrest Prods., will be based in Los Angeles and report to Lara Spotts, veep of development. In his new post at Bravo, Ferraro will help spearhead series development for the cabler.

During his time at RSP, Ferraro worked on shows including “The Wanted Life” and “Girls in the Game.” He has served as vice prez of programming at OWN, and has logged credits on shows including “American Idol: UK,” “The Biggest Loser,” “Temptation Island,” and “Rupaul’s Drag Race.”
