Following an explicit Twitter rant regarding ESPN2’s “First Take” host Cari Champion, comedian and television personality Artie Lange has seen his Thursday appearance on Comedy Central’s “@Midnight” canceled.

Lange tweeted that he had from been pulled from the show on Wednesday.

“Artie Lange will not appear on Thursday’s episode of ‘@midnight,'” a rep for the show said in a statement.

Lange drew massive criticism after a series of tweets Tuesday night. In the NSFW tweets, he described a fantasy in which he was a slaveowner and Champion was his slave. Lange has previously appeared on ESPN.

Champion has hosted “First Take” since 2012, moderating comments between Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. She has not yet responded publicly to the tweets, though ESPN issued a statement on Wednesday.

“His comments were reprehensible and no one should be subjected to such hateful language,” said the network. “They objectify and demean one of our valued employees under the thin guise of ‘comedy’ and are offensive to all of us. We will not dignify them with any other comment.”

Lange addressed the controversy with another series of tweets Wednesday afternoon.
