Comedian Amy Schumer has been picked to host the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, the Viacom-owned cable channel announced.

“I am honored to be hosting the awards,” Schumer said in a statement provided by MTV. “I will carry the audience with me like a teen mom #breaktheinternet #breakmywater.”

The cabler’s 24th annual MTV Movie Awards will air Sunday, April 12, 2015, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, broadcasting from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live.

Schumer is creator, star, writer and exec producer of Comedy Central’s “Inside Amy Schumer,” slated to return for a third season in April 2015. (Both MTV and Comedy Central are owned by Viacom.) She will also appear in Universal Pictures’ “Trainwreck,” a comedy she wrote and developed with director Judd Apatow, set for July 2015 release. Schumer stars in the film alongside Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer, Tilda Swinton, LeBron James and John Cena. Schumer was Variety‘s 2014 Breakthrough of the Year Award winner for comedy.

MTV touted Schumer’s takeover of its social-media channels Wednesday evening teasing the announcement as the first time the network has handed over control of its Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Vine, Tumblr and Snapchat accounts to a single individual (for whatever that’s worth).

“Wickedly funny and sharply insightful, Amy Schumer is perhaps the most ascendant talent in comedy today, and she’s on the brink of an epic year,” MTV president Stephen Friedman said. “We are thrilled to work with Amy to create an unpredictable and hilarious showcase for Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters and brightest stars in what promises to be the most combustible Movie Awards ever.”

Last year’s host for the MTV Movie Awards was Conan O’Brien.

The 2015 MTV Movie Awards will fete the best films and performances from the past year, and promises to feature exclusive moments from upcoming 2015 summer films. Nominations will be announced at a later date.
