The series is part of an overall deal the pair has struck with A&E Network for unscripted projects to be produced through their newly launched D&J Prods. banner. It also stems from their exposure on “Wahlburgers,” the A&E series that revolves around the Boston restaurant that Donnie Wahlberg owns with his brother, actor Mark Wahlberg, and other family members.
McCarthy is coming off a one-year stint on ABC’s “The View,” and she hosts a chatshow on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. Wahlberg is a co-star of the CBS drama “Blue Bloods” and a founding member of pop group New Kids on the Block.
“Donny Loves Jenny” will bow next year with an hourlong episode devoted to the couple’s wedding, which was held Aug. 31 near Chicago. The remaining nine segs will be half-hours and follow the pair as integrate their lives and families as a married couple. Series will be produced by D&J Prods. and 44 Blue Prods., the banner behind “Wahlburgers.”
