ABC Family Loads Up June With Three Rookies, Three Returnees

It will be a busy June at ABC Family, which is launching a trio of new series while bringing back new seasons of three of its core current skeins.

The cabler on Monday announced premiere dates for all of the shows, which includes drama “Chasing Life.” The series about a twenty-something aspiring journalist (Italia Ricci) who tries to balance her ambitious career with her family will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. starting June 10.

“Chasing Life” will follow the net’s top-rated program, “Pretty Little Liars” (pictured), which kicks off its fifth season on the same night.

The following week sees the return of “Switched at Birth” and “The Fosters,” with the former returning to complete its third season and the latter kicking off its second season. They both premiere on Monday, June 16.

And on Wednesday, June 25, ABC Family will premiere comedies “Young & Hungry” and “Mystery Girls,” which will air in the 8 o’clock hour.

“Young & Hungry,” which is executive produced by Ashley Tisdale, stars Jonathan Sadowski as a wealthy young tech and Emily Osment as a young food blogger, looking to be his personal chef.

“Mystery” stars Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth as former detective TV show starlets brought back together by a real-life mystery. The series is also exec produced by the former “Beverly Hills 90210” cast faves.
