Koeppen has spent the past five years as chief operating officer of Europe and Asia for the 21st Century Fox parent company, overseeing numerous transactions and a broad portfolio of companies that included satcasters Sky Italia and Sky Deutschland and the Star India pay TV service.
As president of FIC Europe and Africa, Koeppen will be based in London. Fox Intl. Channels is the fast-growing division that houses some 300 channels around the world. FIC’s Europe and Africa operations include 94 nets (branded as Fox, Fox Sports, Fox Life and National Geographic) and program services in 88 countries, with revenues that exceed $1 billion.
Koeppen reports to FIC prexy Hernan Lopez. Lopez cited Koeppen’s “insight and experience” in announcing the hire.
“Jan has created enormous value for multiple divisions of 21st Century Fox and I am looking forward to having him run our Europe and Africa business,” he said.
Before joining 21st Century Fox, Koeppen held various posts at Boston Consulting Group.
