U.K. Pay TV Service BSkyB Recruits ‘Madam Secretary’

LONDON – U.S. drama “Madam Secretary” will air exclusively in the U.K. on pay TV operator BSkyB’s Sky Living channel early next year following a deal with CBS Studios Intl.

Series, which stars Tea Leoni, premiered recently in the U.S. It is executive produced by Morgan Freeman, Barbara Hall and Lori McCreary.

Antonia Hurford-Jones, Sky Living channel director, commented: “It’s a smart, pacy quality drama that has you hooked from the start. I feel confident our customers are going to love it.”

The deal was closed by Sky’s senior acquisitions manager Julia Stuart and Stephen Tague, senior VP, Europe for CBS Studios Intl.

The series will sit alongside Sky Living’s line-up of U.S. drama, including “Elementary,” “Stalker,” “Scandal,” “The Blacklist,” “Hannibal,” “Bones,” “Criminal Minds” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”
