Celebrities Put on the Dog for Canine Charity

It’s a dog-eat-dog world but, thanks to Michael Buble, Chelsea Handler and Snoop Dogg, the world has just become a little kinder to our canine companions.

The crooner, comedian and rapper have partnered with Dog for Dog, a movement founded in 2011 by the Dog Bakery owner Rocky Kanaka Keever to help canines in need. The concept is simple: For every bag of the bakery’s signature Dogsfood sold, another bag is donated to a nearby animal shelter. In 2013, 52,000 pounds of Dogsfood were donated. The company is now kickstarting a nationwide campaign where dog lovers can nominate their favorite shelter to win a year’s supply. Nominations end June 20, and the voting process begins June 23, with a winner selected after voting closes on July 11.

Snoop Dogg is gunning for the Mutt Scouts,  a non-profit dog rescue in Los Angeles. “I wanted to do something for our shelters and dogs in need that had a direct impact,” says the rapper. “The Dog for Dog movement has been truly inspiring.” Visit http://www.dogfordog.com for more information.
