A longtime favorite stop for office catering and star-spotting, Joan’s on Third recently opened its second location in a former Studio City post office. The spacious cafe features an extensive cheese counter, artisanal food marketplace, long communal tables and plenty of sidewalk seating along Ventura Place. Open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m., it works for breakfast, lunch or supper. Daily specials go beyond the much-loved Chinese chicken salad to dozens of appealing main dishes and sides like broccoflower with breadcrumbs, almonds or herbs or roasted eggplant with za’atar yogurt sauce and pomegranate seeds.
