Cher has canceled the rest of her “Dressed to Kill” tour as she continues to recover from an infection, the Madison Square Garden company announced Thursday.
The 68-year-old performer completed 49 tour dates beginning in March before taking a scheduled break in July. She was hit with the infection that affected kidney function shortly before returning to the road in September.
“I am totally devastated,” Cher said in a statement. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I’m so proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started.”
According to the announcement, Cher has been consistent in her progress, but doctors advised her to take more time to rest to ensure a full recovery.
A total of 29 dates were canceled, including shows in Lubbock, Texas; New York; Boston; Chicago; and Toronto.
Refunds are available for ticket buyers at point of purchase.
